  1. Hi my name is Christine and l would like to try out a jazz song with your band. L have been learning singing for more than a year and l would love to get some experience performing in front of an audience. L am also looking for work as a vocalist and my singing teacher says my voice is most suited to jazz. Also l love jazz music. Hope to hear from you soon regards chris

Thank you for your e-mail. The Jam Sessions are ideal for someone looking to gain performance experience in front of an audience. We have had a number of singers who have gone on to develop a full repertoire and get paid work as vocalists in front of their own band. The sessions generally have 15 – 20 musicians attend, and one or two singers. If you would like to give it a try, just turn up at the Leinster Arms, Gold Street Collingwood around 4 – 4.30 any Sunday afternoon and ask for Col Garrett. I suggest you get your singing teacher to suggest some tunes, and if you can bring charts in your key for three or more songs, that would be great.
      Regards
